I spent 1 January on a jetlagged hangover in London, waiting to connect between a plane and a bus. I took this shot of Tower bridge to accent the blue suspension mechanisms, and played around in Photoshop a little bit to bring out the colour that popped at me on a grey 1 January.

The bridge of RMS QUEEN MARY on her 75th anniversary weekend, the signal flags spelling out "75 YEARS" on a glorious Southern California day.

With yesterday's Boxing Day blizzard here on the Outer Banks, it made a great opportunity for photography of the OBX in a new setting. This house is one of my favourites on the 4x4 beach, standing out just a little closer to the beach from the others, with a lovely coastal look. Quite different when everything is covered in snow, though!

One from my March 2010 visit to RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach. I love walking around the telegraphs on her bridge, all for different purposes. Steering, speed, anchors...each one a fascinating panel.

I went out to Cincinnati for the Fourth of July this year to visit several friends. The first full day, though, my friend Frank and I went down to Louisville, KY to ride the Steamer Belle of Louisville, the oldest active steamboat on the Mississippi River System. After talking to the officers and crew until after dark, I got this shot of her paddlewheel and stern lit up over the Ohio River.
