Jaguar cub Tikal

    Tikal and Maderas recently ventured out of the "cave" area to explore their big scary exhibit. It's only a matter of time until they start tearing up the grass and climbing all over. Watch the video.

    Unfortunately, demand for the jaguar's beautiful rosette-covered fur is one of the reasons this species is endangered. In addition, loss of habitat and human-animal conflict have reduced populations of jaguars throughout their range from North America through South America.
