on october 3, 2006 - nintendo world in manhattan was holding a special event where hawthorne heights was gonna play and several wii's were available for demos. rob and i had taken the day off as an extended vacation for my birthday. we thought it was gonna be crowded but it wasn't so bad since it was a work day. hawthorne heights was pretty good, though they played acoustic and it was a bit hard to hear at the store. i didn't try out the wii cause i didn't feel like standing in line, but rob did and he really liked how intuitive the controls felt. i was impressed by the smoothness in response from sensor to game. though the wait to play metroid prime was over 3 hours, rob was glad he got to try it out. meanwhile i was walking around taking pictures, and i downloaded a demo of the new mario vs donkey kong onto my ds to play. it was ok, cute but not too exciting.
