Shoe Aisle at a Nashville Target Store

Shoe Aisle at a Nashville Target Store by Scurzuzu.
I couldn't quit laughing when I saw this aisle. What kinds of people do this to a store's merchandise? Hillbillies, that's what kind!

I've had to clean that crap up before. Yeah. I work at Target.

One of the theories developed by my coworkers explaining why people are so messy in the shoe section suggests that it happens because you have two dangerous combinations: Clothing for your feet, and a soft ground.

If the shoe section were on a hard tiled ground, it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

And yeah, I've felt like hitting people. Don't ever work retail.

Or, you could attach every shoe to the display shelves with retractable security cables, like Best Buy does with their cell phones and cameras.

I worked retail in college--Hastings, a music, book, and video store. It was like cleaning up a four-year-old's room every night when we closed.

The phrase shouldn't be, "The customer is always right," but rather, "The customer is always angry."

That is terrible. I used to work at Target as well and I hated when I was assigned mens and shoes for the night. At the end of the night we'd have to make sure all of the shoes were sticking upright in the shelves, this was known as "happy feet". Well my own feet sure weren't HAPPY after I had to bend over and clean all of this crap up. Thank god I don't work at target anymore.

This is why I preferred hardlines when I worked at Target.

"Why don't you like working softlines...there aren't as many customers to help, less phone calls...etc.."
"shoes"
"ahh..ok you win"

Next time show a picture of the fitting rooms at the end of a busy day.
