Philips Learning Capsules and Lecture Display from Syd Mead's book Sentinel. Mead painted this sometime in the early '70s.

"The scene shows a man on the right inserting program cartridges into an enclosed learning capsule that is magnetically attatched to the ceiling. ... On the left a pair of junior college students are entering a three-dimensional lecture to explore the finger-locking path in a large, plastic reproduction of a micro-organism."

Now see, I would have enjoyed biology so much more with these learning capsules. Although I bet oversized micro-organisms can give you some crazy nightmares.
