I hadn't thought about this advantage of
iPhone as camera, but you're right. It
doesn't look like you're taking a shot, so
you can get some good images before the
subjects put on their weird
I'm-having-my-photo-taken faces.

Dave: I assume you took this shot, uploaded
the pic to your computer, then uploaded to
Flickr?
Because I heard that if you email a photo
from the iPhone, it always resizes the photo
to 480x640 (instead of sending the full
1600x1200 image).

I took some iPhone pics yesterday under
very low light conditions & sent them
directly to Flickr from my phone. So they're
uncorrected, but I'm happy with the result -
especially the Venice canal photos:. www.flickr.com/photos/9247343@N05/ ...

Fitz, yes, I transferred the pic to my
MacBook and then uploaded it to Flickr. I did
NOT email it (although I do that sometimes).
Hangry, I didn't think they were playing
when I was on the train, but I was listening
to my iPod (not the one in the iPhone by the
way, I still carry my 60GB iPod, its much
easier to use, imho). From the picture it
appears they *are* playing. Look at the
largest resoltuion version of the pic.

I wouldn't have been able to resist the
urge to put in a request for a song, though,
say "Serenata Huasteca"!

The iPhone camera isn't half bad. Not great, but not bad.
