I'm noticing this line in some of the pictures of where the water level was. I had to look at a few pictures a couple times to see if it was a fence, a camera flaw, or something like that.

Was this water-line really visible everywhere?

Yes, that is the water line. It's amazing how the eye doesn't see it for a while, and then you see it all over the place.

It's everywhere. Sometimes on fences, the fence below the line is cleaned - like it's been re-galvanized. I'm not sure how that happens.

On my pictures of NOLA, the water lines look like the film didn't get developed right, and they your eye adjusts and you realize that the houses were under 5 feet of water for 3 weeks. The damage is catastrophic!

Camera phones with integrated GPS have been available in Japan for several years and store the GPS location in the EXIF data in JPGs if you desire.
