Me, Guy Kawasaki and Robert Scoble by scriptingnews.
Monkeying around on our way into San Quentin for a very serious day (though we didn't really understand how serious at this time).

Yeah, we had to wear them over our jeans cause that's what the inmates wear.

The green pants are for visitors. Prisoners wear blue, so if we wore blue they might have kept us in. :-)

Admit it, you photoshopped those blue pants to make them look green! :-P

cuperphoto: visiting San Quentin is a sombering experience. There's no joy in that place. We talked with a guy who blew away his sister when he was 18 and has been in for almost 30 years. It's one of those experiences that I'm still thinking about weeks later.

Not to discount how somber the moment was...you were out of place. It's hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil... #justsayin :)

Looks like the Principal's office, which you all have been familiar with. I bet the warden was actually a nice guy. Not like the movies.

Let me guess... From left; RSS is blind, hearing.alltop.com, and a non-disclosure about to be busted?

The colored pants are so guards can easily recognize the inmates and the visitors and yes, so no one gets left inside who isn't supposed to be.

somenice: something like that! Actually I think we were joking around about Google and their "do no evil" pledge.

That wasn't the wardens office Scoble, we were in the holding tank between the outside world and the inside world. We were about to go to jail.

scriptingnews: oh, yeah. Sorry for the inaccuracy.

kosso: I call this the "taxpayer" tour. We visited an aircraft carrier. Now we are visiting San Quentin. Partly out of our own personal interest, but also to see where our tax dollars go to. Guy Kawasaki's friend, Dennis Hall, arranged for this trip.

if you want to see where your tax money goes, you better visit Washington. You are only looking at the small percentage that makes it out. ; )
