I'm paying 29 Euros for 30 days use. I figure that in Germany I should be able to find TMobile when I'm out and about. Thinking about maybe using my iPhone but it seems it'll be too expensive.

An unlocked GSM phone is the thing to have in Europe. Just buy a prepaid SIM and you're good to go. Cost me all of $8 in Russia, and that included enough minutes for my entire 2-week trip.
