Lincoln was a member of the Republican part (that is why the GOP is known as the party of Lincoln). And for the record, I am a member and I would free the slaves too.

Having a war soley over freeing the slaves would be like having a war to keep the border open with mexico so the ruling class can continue exploiting cheap labor. BY THE TIME OF THE CIVIL WAR IT WAS ALREADY CHEAPER TO SHARE CROP FREED SLAVES THAT EARNED THEIR FREEDOM-OR-There was plenty of poor white people desperate or dumb enough to become share cropers. Slavery wouldnt have died out completly on its own. It might have been slowly legistlated away. The war was about money and trade ultimately. As for to be republican or democrat its a waste of time both parties are run by the Alluminati. WE ARE ALL GUILTY OF LETTING THE RULING CLASS HAVE THEIR SLAVES STILL TODAY THEY ARE RUNNING ACROSS THE BORDER VOLUTEERLY. WHILE WE ONLY GIVE LIP SEVICE TO THE PROBLEM.
