Seems like almost enough reason to call 911 :-)

Can't believe that iTunes has picked this day of all others to call in sick.

Bummer. It worked fine for me yesterday. It sounds like the activation servers aren't keeping up.

Seems like it should try again if you disconnect the phone (and maybe restart iTunes) and reconnect the phone.

I - like many are in the same boat. Pretty atrocious for Apple given their experience of last year. If you are going to hype a big one day roll out, you better have the resources to back it up. Note also that this is messing with their in store activation.

Seems like Apple could use their own version of the Fail Whale.

images.scripting.com/archiveScriptingCom/2008 /07/11/apple...

And maybe this could be the last earth-shaking rollout. They're bullshit, these are just products, and people depend on them. To hold them sacrifice to Steve's pride or vanity or whatever causes them to try to do everything on one day for the whole fucking world.

You're lucky, my Nokia just carjacked a police van, shot a priest dead, and set a whale on fire.

It still has a working address book, though.

Get the firmware off modmyifone.com and upgrade manually by shift-clicking on "Update" in iTunes.
