Jake - I totally agree. I mentioned to Brad
that the his handlers planned the set so that
people would think, "I could see him as
president". Anyone who didn't know
better would assume he was the president
giving a speech. The delivery was boring as
hell. I suspect that it was his goal, to
wear us out, to finally agree, "Fine, I
give up..."

I believe that his speech was devisive and
obviously shows his belief that all his
minister said is true in his heart. He
believes it also. It goes along the lines of
what techers in Lodi Unified School district
are being told they must do and must teach.
That is white americas fault that blacks were
slaves and we have to constatnly be
apologetic about it. That we feel guilty
every time we smile at a black person. BUll
crap!!! They have been told that instead of
teaching about great men like Abe Lincoln
they will only teach about black leaders in
history. All this is doing is turning the
tables. It has been many generations since
slavery. Slaves were black, Native Americans
etc. There were even white slaves. It was
totally wrong what happened in the past
concerning slavery, however it was not a
decision made by all the following
generations. The blacks in this generation
are not slaves either. I do not believe we
should be held responsible for the sins of
earlier generations. We have our own sins
today.

Moohcar, I know what you're saying, but I
dont think these people, Wright and his
congregation, are doing that. I just watched
a much longer segment of one of the Wright
sermons the cable news networks have been
excerpting, and when he talks about what the
U.S. does, it's "we" not
"they," which is proper. In the
U.S. (as Lincon explained) we are a
government of, for and by the people. We all
take responsibility. Now, when you make a
mistake do you try to sweep it under the
carpet, or do you acknowledge it, learn from
it, ask for forgiveness? Of course. Pretty
sure that's what Rev Wright was saying, and
if so, what's the problem? Watch some of the
videos yourself. Let's figure this out for
ourselves.
