Raines' oldfangled new phone

Raines' oldfangled new phone by scriptingnews.
Raines Cohen brought this with him to breakfast. It's a new handset for his cell phone that looks just like the handsets on old rotary phones. It works. Had to take a picture. :-)

Those plug-in retro handsets are awesome. What phone is this? Why is the bezel on the screen so humungous?

Bezel on Sidekick is big because it is protective yellow shell. I wanted to get the yellow handset, but only the damaged floor demo was available so I settled on classic black.

I bought it Sunday at Real Goods www.realgoods.com/ in Hopland, CA, at the Solar Living Expo http//www.solfest.org/

They also make one that's a VoIP phone that you plug into your USB port.

I plan on having some fun with this in Black Rock City next week... in conjunction with a VoIP phone.
