My Purple Blanket

My Purple Blanket

My 9 month old Springer 'Flight' has a purple blanket that he refuses to part with. We wrapped him in it the day we got him at just 6 weeks old. He loves to roll around on it, suck on it before he goes to sleep and sometimes tears holes in it when he gets in a destructive mood. On this occassion he he was in the bedroom rolling around the floor with the purple blanket which he had managed to wrap around his own head (something he does regularly) and jumped onto the bed where i was lying reading on my iphone. He just lay there and looked at me so i snapped the image you see above :)

The Damselfly & the Whistle

The Damselfly & the Whistle

While walking my dog around the local reservoir i stopped for a rest for 5 minutes in an area that had quite a few Damselflies darting around. I had the idea that maybe they would be attracted to the shiney dog whistle i carry with me so i planted it in the ground and almost straight away this guy landed on it and claimed it for himself. I say "claimed it" as any other Damselfy that came near was quickly attacked (in a dominant, forceful flying kinda way lol). I spent 10 minutes or so taking photos of it with the 100-400mm and the 50mm f/1.8 and ended up with alot of nice images of it. Also snapped a nice shot of my dog jumping up for a feather (see below) so all in all a successful day out with the camera :)
