Fragile Life

golf callouses, now almost gone since the injuries...
Fragile Life by Scott MacLeod Liddle.
A native gecko egg I dislodged whilst gardening.

I accidentally broke one the other day whilst moving some pavers and it upset me greatly...poor little bugger, he was so delicate but with those big gecko eyes already formed,,,. i didn't even see it inside on of the bricks cavities... : ' (

this one i placed back in a spot where it could hatch, and evetually when i checked back it looked like he made it out ok! (*thank goodness*)

well at least you felt bad for the accidental loss of the egg

one day the human species will get stepped on by something bigger. i probably wont be around when it happens, but hopefully, some day it will happen...

oh i always feel bad when i cause a loss of life...darn buddhist beliefs...but the meat eating....well...i never said i was a _good_ buddhist....

i'm pretty sure it'll be something microbial that does us in....and then peace will settle over gaia and it'll be nothin' but flowers...

perhaps we can but hope for some sort of benevolence from whatever comes next :D

i gave up on eating animals. i realized that there is no reason that i have to and that i could stop. so i did. there are plenty of times i miss it, but there are also plenty of amazing foods out there that don't include it. Plus, there are amazing things to be done with textured soy protein. Check out GardenBurger's BBQ Riblets. OH MY! and Boca's breakfast links (you would never know)

microbial damnation... or technological....

as for benevolent.... hmm... don't have much experience with the receiving end of that, personally, to believe in it much...

hope srpings enternal for me and benevolence, i can keep getting disappointed but it won't stop we from believing in it ;)

i suspect it will be a combo meal-deal...technological microbial of our own design.

aussie soy products are interesting. i visted the major producer here in queensland, they do Not-Dogs and a range of look-alike soy protein numbers.

now i've been to some funky places, but a soy factory really took my breath away.

the not-bacon is damn good though :D and it looks way cool.

the stocks i use are non-meat, so i lke to think any contribution i can make without giving up bacon is a worthy one.

i'm a nut for chickpeas ...if i could eat them every meal and dahl every dayi wouldn't miss baco....oh who am i kidding LOL

bacon up that sausage boy...!
