Waiting

Went out walking in the rain today (mostly under cover of awnings and pedestrian tunnels to stay dry) with my manual 50mm lens. Thought this abandoned shopping cart looked lonely, so I took its picture. Didn't quite nail the focus... I need a lot more practice with my old manual lenses.

Color-correction and curves in UFRAW, then dodge/burn, spot edits, and vignette in GIMP.

Amped [PhotoChallenge.org 2009, Day 335]

Shot for PhotoChallenge.org 2009 Challenge, Day 335: Speaker

Whew, we've survived the camphone challenge month, and now I'm gonna try to keep up with the regular daily challenge topic for this last month of 2009.

The actual "speaker" part of my son's keyboard amp is visually boring, so I shot the control panel instead. Not much light, so I got right in close and leaned the camera on the corner of the amp for stability.
