John Muir Trail (2007)
|
The John Muir Trail (JMT) is a 211 mile hike from the floor of the Yosemite Valley to Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States at over 14,500 ft. We planned on taking 23 total days to hike this entire trail: 21 days of hiking and two rest days.
Unfortunately, we only completed half of the trail this year because of undersized boots leading to rather severe blistering. Rather than our proposed 23 day, 211 mile trip, we instead were in the wilderness for 14 days and hiked for a total of 130 miles.
