It looks nice, but the OS has to be as good as or better than the iphone, that's the only thing that's going to make a difference.

Does it have touch sensor like Blackberry Storm? Replaceable Battery? Most importantly, how is the call quality? (something we rarely talk about these days, since w/Bluetooth headsets, call quality is horrible on almost every phone - definitely my Blackberry Curve w/Verizon!).

Ofcorse a Nokia have replaceable battery , and in normal the call quality is the best in Nokia phones. Have you test the E71 ?
Awarded for the phone of the year and the best smartphone in 2008.

About the N97 it's yummy candy.

EverNote for the iPhone is the only reason I don't give up my iPhone now for an E71. The N97 looks very nice, but iPhone applications are typically so much better than S60 apps.

Most S60 applications I've used are terrible. (I've owned a 6600, N73, N80, N95, E61i)

Well the iphone look nice but sad it dont have any usefull specs like videocall, camera , mms and more. The N97 have ten times better specs and are a real smartphone.

Like he says
1. It does 16:9 video. The iPhone doesn’t even do video. So, how can you go to a Daft Punk concert and record it to taunt your friends?
2. It has a 5 megapixel camera. The iPhone only has 2, and the quality isn’t even close. The camera also has a dual LED flash, so you can take pictures in the dark where the iPhone can’t.
3. I can type three Facebook status messages on the N97’s nice QWERTY keybord in the time that I can type two on the iPhone.
4. It does copy and paste, so you can copy URLs to send to your friends. The iPhone can’t do that.
5. It has replaceable batteries so you can charge up three batteries and Facebook for days, while the iPhone needs to be hooked back up to the wall for recharging after a few hours.
6. The GPS device does turn-by-turn and has a built in compass, so you’ll get to your parties faster than with the iPhone, which doesn’t have a compass and doesn’t do turn-by-turn.

@tommie_braxton: Apple has made the decision to keep a lot of features off the iPhone in the interest of keeping the interface from sucking balls. Design is all about what you DON'T stuff in the black box.

Anyway:
1: My jailbroken iPhone does video, and Qik is on its way to non-jailbroken iPhones.
2: I carry a real camera with me at all times, and megapixels are BS anyway. 2MP is enough for 6x8's at 200 lines per inch.
3: If you're not an iPhone owner who uses the on screen keyboard daily, I'm not surprised you find it slower.
4: Tap "+". Tap "Mail Link to this Page"
5: My wall wart is small and I've never run out of juice on the road anyhow.
6: I can read a map.

Patrick: Qik on iPhone sucks balls. The frame rate is half of what it is on Nokia and I seriously doubt Apple will approve that app.

You have absolutely no clue about the quality of the camera in the iPhone. It sucks balls too, compared to the Nokia.

I use the iPhone daily and am VERY FAST typing on it (faster than all my friends) but typing on the Nokia (or a Blackberry) is instantly faster and provably so.

Tapping "Mail Link to this page" does NOT work for FriendFeed.

I drain an iPhone battery in four hours of FriendFeeding, but, like I said, I use it more than you do.

You can read a map? Congradulations. That is a great comeback to having an incomplete GPS.

here's why the iphone wins: multi touch. yah it's that simple and yu don't have to ever calibrate it. yah.... that is why it is better :)

oh and the one button on the face is a good thing, and i have found that even with a qwerty keyboard in hand, I can't type at all a fast as on my ipod touch: i suck at spelling and the auto correct has saved me a number of times when writing an email.

oh and for a phone to dethrone the iphone, it has to have sofware that is as easy as itunes to use!

By the time it's out you'll have 20.000 apps to choose from and extend iPhone functionality; with all the apps you have for iPhone you can go well beyond what Nokia can imagine....
By the way... who was complaining about the price of iPhone ?

@Treni ,
The number one OS S60 Symbian have already over
260million devices with all apps with many many devlopers ,

By the way , can the apple devlopers make so you can record video
or make videocalls and you get 5MP camera with flash , and ofcorse so you can change the memorycard in your iphone ?

That would be nice .

Ok, I'm only talking from my own experience here, so bear that in mind - but as I see it, Symbian, may have lots of apps, but it''s hard to find decent apps that integrate smoothly with the OS.

The only stuff I've found genuinely useful and polished are google's apps, and perhaps Qik, although that service is not without it's flaws.

I've used both N95s and iPhones (I currently own an N95). I was not convinced at all about the iPhone when I heard about the idea, it was only when I came to make use of one that I realised how good it was, precisely because Apple have focused their resources on the OS and user interface, not spending time extending the feature set, which presumably will come with time anyway.

Stop comparing Iphone to Nokia!
Can you compare Ferrari with Toyota?
Owning a Nokia is a privilege!
If you really want to compare Iphone to a Nokia device
Try comparing Iphone to Nokia 6600
cause even 6600 did more than Iphone's today!
