A low relief mural commissioned by Provident Community Bank in March 2007. The mural represents tradition and change in Simpsonville.
Simpsonville’s history as a center of transportation in the 19th Century and hard work and progress is suggested by the train and wheels. The textile industry is represented by the bell, and the anvil is the tool of the blacksmith. The forms of basketry represents the Cherokee tradition, and a pointed arch is Simpsonville’s faith. All these symbols appear to be balanced as Simpsonville approaches the 21st Century. The artists are Tom Stanley and Shawn Cassidy
