Driving through Lynchburg at Christmas, we passed the site of the expanding Thomas Road Baptist Church. Now why would Jerry Falwell choose to make an old factory his church?

He chose it because the land is adjacent to Liberty University, and I hear he wants to build the largest chapel in North America. So he needed the land to do so, and the old General Electic factory suited his needs perfectly.
