End of January, and it's blooming!

Went out to our garden to catch the white blossoms having appeared–for the last fortnight–on our Mirabelle tree. The weather's been strange and our rainy days few; I was lucky enough to catch a bee doing her pollination business.

Incidentally, this morning, I enjoyed some home-made jam that came from the fruits of this very tree two years ago, yummy!

Morning walk above the Avenues

Morning walk above the Avenues

Two ladies walk in the Presidio of San Francisco–near the old seafarers' cemetery–on Battery Caulfiield Road, towards the 15th Avenue gate. I drove downhill, right into the fog zone, and shot the image from my car window on the iPhone.

The fog still engulfed the Richmond district of San Francisco and even Twin Peaks, only Sutro Tower is out in the blue!

Trumpeting Angels, twittering birds...

Trumpeting Angels, twittering birds...

Two birds were chatting away on the head of an angel near Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The row of identical celestial sculptures are part of the quasi-Roman display of figurines at this hotel casino.

Are they trumpeting the return of Célin Dion for another engagement?

A different "Wynn-dow"

A different "Wynn-dow"

One darker window on the Wynn, Las Vegas façade drew my attention. I find the two hotel towers aesthetically pleasing, and they sure are good for amazing sun reflections.

We went to a show called "Le Rêve" or "The Dream" which was the best I've ever seen! Here are some stills of the performers: www.lerevecasting.com/seedream.cfm

One branch, branching out…

One branch, branching out…

At Jack London State Historic Park, trees seemed a little more gnarly and wild than elsewhere. Here's a tree branch extending with twists and turns.
