    Here with parameter 2/9 (as in, the plane intersecting the Menger cube of center 0 and side length 2 has for parametric equation x+y+z=2/9 ).

    The Menger cut with the center (the first one) has parameter 0 while the previous one has parameter 1.

    Stars appears with all 2n/9, in the second iteration if n is dividable by 3, in the third iteration if n is not dividabled by 3. More generally, I would say that stars appear on the recursion level if and when the parameter has some property when written in base 3 (just like for one characterisation of the Cantor set).
