The Purgatory Cocktail
Encountered via a Gary Regan column in the San Francisco Chronicle, and created by bartender Ted Kilgore of the Monarch Restaurant in Maplewood, Missouri.
2-1/2 ounces Rittenhouse 100-proof rye whiskey
3/4 ounce Bénédictine D.O.M. liqueur (NOT B&B!)
3/4 ounce green Chartreuse
Stir with ice for no less than 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
