Sinking Deeper.

Sinking Deeper. by SaylaMarz.
10 Days til the election.

The US (and, consequently, the Worldwide) Economy is continuing to choke and sink.

Our economy was at an all time high in the last Democratic administration. Under G.W.Bush, our economy has fallen deeper than many economists believed possible ever again. The world has lost faith in the US, both politically, and economically.

McCain's hero, Reagan's "trickle down economics" did not work in the 1980s, and they will not work now. Old Republican ideas simply are not working. It's time for a change in Washington.

The New York TImes officially endorsed Senator Obama for president.

"The American financial system is the victim of decades of Republican deregulatory and anti-tax policies. Those ideas have been proved wrong at an unfathomable price, but Mr. McCain — a self-proclaimed “foot soldier in the Reagan revolution” — is still a believer.

Mr. Obama sees that far-reaching reforms will be needed to protect Americans and American business.

Mr. McCain talks about reform a lot, but his vision is pinched. His answer to any economic question is to eliminate pork-barrel spending — about $18 billion in a $3 trillion budget — cut taxes and wait for unfettered markets to solve the problem.

Mr. Obama is clear that the nation’s tax structure must be changed to make it fairer. That means the well-off Americans who have benefited disproportionately from Mr. Bush’s tax cuts will have to pay some more. Working Americans, who have seen their standard of living fall and their children’s options narrow, will benefit. Mr. Obama wants to raise the minimum wage and tie it to inflation, restore a climate in which workers are able to organize unions if they wish and expand educational opportunities.

Mr. McCain, who once opposed President Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy as fiscally irresponsible, now wants to make them permanent. And while he talks about keeping taxes low for everyone, his proposed cuts would overwhelmingly benefit the top 1 percent of Americans while digging the country into a deeper fiscal hole."

I have already voted for Obama, and I hope the rest of the nation does likewise.

The tones, the color around your eye, the ridiculous amount of expression in your eye, this is awesome. Did you tilt your head back to take it, or were you holding it straight up and then just turned the image?

The national debt clock needed new digits to account for the spending. That says a lot.

Glad to hear you didn't put the money directly in your mouth. If you only knew how truly dirty it is. :P It's gross. However this shot is REALLY good.

One could try to argue that "trickle-down" economics actually did come to fruition under Clinton in the 90s, but it doesn't really work because even those good economic times were greatly a result of the "tech bubble" that burst in '01, the beginnings of the "housing bubble" that burst in '06, and looser rules on creating and trading monies that don't really exist.

At least that's my layman's take on it.

that's a fair argument, I suppose....but either way it boils down to "I'll serve myself first, and you wait and see if any leftovers make it back to the kitchen."

If it took another 3 presidential terms for Reagonomics to kick in for the underclasses, it's basically an economic program that takes over a decade to help the majority of the country...and in a decade's time, there are too many other factors intervening to assuredly attribute or expect benefit.

I'm trying to figure out what the artistic intention of the bubble wrap is? Was it just to protect you from the nastiness of $$? What's the other purpose? What's it mean?

lol it was the closest thing at hand that I could come up with to keep the money out of my mouth. I figured I'd come up with some symbolism after the fact lol.

Exactly. Trickle-down economics only (sort of) works when economic times are good for long enough. And if anyone thinks that we can have good economic times in perpetuity, s/he's been smokin' somethin' illegal.
