So, my latest thought is to use some Hempathy for this (already in stash & I think in the proper amount). Also, if I get the proper gauge and it *is* the right amount of yarn, the activation energy for casting on will be so. much. lower... because it's right there! Must go swatch!

hempathy would be beautiful for this! since there's a little less give you might see the increases a bit more than you do in the soya cotton (the V neck incs are every row). i love hempathy though -- i think it'll look great!

That is a most excellent suggestion, as I have a boatload of Hempathy in my stash, too. Although I'm fairly sure that Hempathy is more of a sportweight, so the maths would have to get involved.
