Endeavour STS-130
This is a photo of the Space Shuttle Endeavor taking off at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Launch occurred around 4:17 am on Feb 8th.
About the shoot: I woke up at 2 am to drive to the location but it was very cold out so I decided to wear a ski suite. When I arrived in Titusville there were cars for miles, since this is supposed to be one of the very last night shuttle launches. I found a place to park and hiked up to the beach. I had never seen a shuttle launch much less ever photographed one. Everyone said it’s like watching the sun come up and they were right. I used bulb mode and triggered the 7D with a remote for the majority of the flight path, it was a lot brighter than I was expecting. The sound took a good 30 seconds to roll in but it was magnificent. I was so caught up in watching the spectacle I nearly forgot to release the remote button.
I only had once chance to get this photo right; all things considered I think I did ok.

Super Bowl XLI - 1

Body Paint & Makeup: Kyle Vest
The shirt is 100% paint (though certain aspects altered for general public viewing). This was is the latest creation by body painting artist Kyle Vest, who was the makeup master behind my “In the Wild”, “Avalon Bullet”, “Rio De Carnival” and “Photographs from the Mirror’s Edge” Projects.
This time in honor of the upcoming Super Bowl XLI, Kyle decided to do a football themed project.
I have no bias toward the Colts BTW but Jennifer might make a Colts fan out of anyone, she was a fantastic model to work with.
