Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy by satosphere.
Many people wonder why obesity is an epidemic [PDF warning] in this nation. They site multiple reasons but I believe I have found the source of the problem.

Hypocrisy.

US is probably the only place where they have ads promoting awareness of obesity and promoting cheap unhealthy junk food.

Case in point - the above ad I snapped at the Powell St station in San Francisco while waiting for a train.

This hypocrisy just staggers me a bit.

Solution is to ban ads promoting such junk food. You probably do know that tobacco advertising is banned. And considering that obesity will soon become more dangerous than smoking, we should do what we can to stop one major causative factor - junk food and drinks. Both these epidemics have similar elements - smoking and eating junk food are voluntary, avoidable and rather cheap. I see no reason why not to ban junk food ads.

we have such weird advertisment couples too here:)
but i think that banning junk food advertisments dont make sense. if you raise the kids good and go out and do sports so tthey learn about healthy living you can eat a burger sometimes and drink some coke or pepsi.
