Ghostly Breakwater

I realize I've been neglecting Flickr somewhat lately... ;) While I have many new photographs since past September, I hardly uploaded anything. So I'll do my utmost best to upload a little more than what was the norm the past months...

This is a photograph from one of the breakwaters stretching into the North Sea at Bergen aan Zee - a little community to the northwest of Amsterdam. I've been planning to photograph sunset here for quite some time now, but as can be seen in the photograph, there wasn't much of a sun that night (thick fog moved in when the sun was setting). As was the night before, when I was there as well...

But I wasn't going to return home without a single photograph for a second time after visiting this location, so I decided to play around with a 10-stop ND filter and white balance settings. And I actually really like the result :).

One day I'll return to this place with the most beautiful sunset ever - for now this'll have to do.

Forgotten Connection

An old bridge in the Rakov Škocjan nature reserve in Slovenia. I think this image shows quite well how incredibly green and pristine Slovenia actually is. This bridge was located in a large sort of sinkhole in the Kras Plateau (the word 'karst' was actually derived from this region).
