This was my first "professional" photoshoot and I was very excited. They were a very fun couple to work with, and I had racked my brain (and Flickr) for ideas for couples shots. A few of the shots I used were from either having seen them on here, or were similar to shots from mine and my husbands engagement shots, or friends wedding/engagement shots... I had wanted to do a shot that I'd seen on Flickr (sorry, can't remember who did it) but the couple made a heart shape with their arms and stood near a wall and it made a heart shadow on the wall, but it was gloriously overcast that day and there was not enough direct light to make a defined shadow, so I improvised and made them make a heart with their hands, and after lots of trials, since it's apparently very difficult to hold you hands like that and stretch them out far enough so that I could get most of their faces in the heart, I got this, as well as with the faces in focus and the hands out of focus. I was very happy with the end result :D
Thank you for all the nice comments :D I'm so excited that this photo shoot went as well as it did. The couple was very happy, and I'm hoping to get more business with these shots to bolster my portfolio (and my confidence!).
Photoshop - layered black and white and coloured, with soft light blending effect, plus touch ups and a bit of curve adj.
Feb. 22nd - From a link from one of my contacts (un4gtableann) I discovered Gods Emerald, and I was looking through her set that's of lots of favourites, and found this amazing image which is an amazing use of hands as a heart... it's so beautiful. www.flickr.com/photos/godsemerald/1361643545/
I love hands making hearts!!
