This is my ideal house

This is my ideal house by Sarah and Olivier.
A tiny house on a tiny island. Perfect for a Joe.

Yes, a little agoraphobic man could easily idle away there and avoid all human contact.

Your photo is being used here, a commercial business:

I noticed that. They didn't ask, either. They did at least post the link somewhere as a form of credit, but it did still make me a little angry.

I sometimes post images from flickr with full credit, but I do a creative commons search to find them. What is the difference between that and the blog this option that your photo has. I can click that link and your photo is posted to my blog instantly. so this is giving permission to anyone with a blog to post the image, yet you don't grant creative commons rights? I'm confused. Can anyone give insight into this?

Oh, I found your image here: www.bukisa.com/articles/87913_dot-in-the-ocea n-just-room-...

This wouldn't have been found in the Creative Commons since I have this picture set at "all rights reserved". The "blog this" option would let people link to my photo and talk about it - it is not the same as using the picture for commercial purposes.

In general I enjoy sharing my photos and am always really honored when people want to use them. They always ask. It's common courtesy to get permission and give a heads up before using the photo on a professional website.

Oh, I see. You are right. I tried a search with CC on and off. This picture only showed up with it off.

The end result is the same though if you use it in a blog post. Your photo is on the other blog and the blog owner can write about your photo or just use it as a nice photo about other subject matter. Better to be safe and block its use altogether if you really are picky about it. Thanks for he help, Sarah or Olivier or both.

Hard to hold off on a blog post, hoping the author will give permission or not. Better to find another photo.
