Don and a Pay Toilet

Don and a Pay Toilet by Sapphireblue.
Don contemplates the dual mysteries of the Swiss franc, and the pay toilet. The latter, at least, made more sense later on in our walk, when we found the part of town where junkies shoot up in the street. (That would be over near the University Hospital, for the cautious traveller.)

The problem here is that a publishing company are laughing all the way to the bank, as they don't have to pay a photographer. it's not really helpful to give your work away to people who then use it to make money. If however you have too much money you can always send me some.

The problem here is that you are trying to tell me what I may and may not do with my own photograph. I won't interfere with you not sharing yours around, and I'd expect the courtesy to be mutual.

No the problem is as a working photographer I have to deal with people who do not understand the economics of the business. basically if you give something away for free it makes it more difficult for photographers to make a living. How would you like it if someone started doing your job for free?

If you're having trouble making a living as a photographer, maybe Flickr ain't the problem.

But if you think harrassing Flickr members will improve your lot in life, go for it. You only have about 12,000,000 more members to go.

I just don't like to see people taken advantage of. Sorry if anyone took offence. I guess it's OK to support your hobby with your day-job as long as your realise that you are throwing good camera money away.
that's all..

Ah, is *that* the explanation for why I have a really, really crappy little camera? It all makes sense now.
