totoro cupcake 4

uh...oh.

green tea cupcake with pistachio whipped cream frosting and a pistachio marzipan fondant totoro truffle. i was inspired by hundrednorth's cake, but that was before i saw her cookies!

hi sugarfreak! they are so cute, it's hard to take that first bite into the totoro, but that pistachio marzipan is so freakin' good, it's hard to stop eating it once you start!

I have to admit, I bought muffin tins and liners on Friday with the intention of making cupcakes this week. I did this after being inspired by these. I don't intend to get quite so crazy with them (though I caught myself eyeing some pre-made fondant at the store as well) but I have to start somewhere :)

So, my first ever batch of cupcakes just came out of the oven. Of course I'd wait till it's warm in my barely-ventilated apt to be hit by a paralyzing need to bake cupcakes. I think I'll wait till he kitchen (and cupcakes) cool before dealing with the frostings. I'll put up pics once my camera batteries recharge a bit.
