The view from the 29th storey of my apartment never ceases to amaze me.

Insignificance

The tree shows Capitalism at its worst. It shows how the Capitalist Pigs look down upon the Sheep and the Dogs as green pasture for their personal gain. According to them, there is nothing wrong with the world and everything looks green from where they are standing. It is also lonely at the top, but they have a few branches, or friends, if you will, to keep them company.

The masses, the Sheep and the Dogs, that are ridiculously below the dizzying heights witnessed by the Capitalist Pigs, look up to the Pigs as empty and barren leaders. Leaders that have sucked the water and nutrients from them to grow by leaps and bounds beyond what the common blade of grass can ever imagine.

The mound of grass you see on the left is an uprising, they think they're showing the Pigs that they will not let them be ruled, but in the whole exercise have forgotten that they themselves are becoming the same machine they are trying so hard to resist.

The trees in the distance are just fake dreams shown to the blades of grass to convince them how they are not poor, just the temporarily embarrassed rich, a mirage if you will.

The clouds, ah the clouds. They are, well, just clouds. They make everyone happy even in this dark age, all one has to do is look up to the sky, and gaze. (Description courtesy: Manas Karekar)

Apparently, this image isn't worth $4.3 million because " There's a stupid f*cking tree between the viewer and the dramatic and profound reflection of human existence".

We don't get too many sunsets like this in this city. The sky was brilliant throughout the day and as I was heading home after work, I was in two minds as to head to the gym as per my original plans or to head home, grab the camera and shoot, as I ended up doing. I reached the vantage point a few minutes before the light show ended, quickly arrived at the composition I wanted and started shooting. I'd have never forgiven myself, had I chosen the gym instead of this.

I was hoping for a better sky, but that sadly didn't happen because of the rain clouds. Still, it was a pretty spectacular sight at 6 in the morning.
