Those colours are spendid. Nothing that spectacular in my part of the world at the moment.

thanks: fall in Boston can be awfully nice, although getting too cold for sand castles.
I, for one, am looking forward to seeing some images of fall in Sussex; I'm sure they're right around the corner.

I love how the colors melt from red to green to blue. Did you take this on 10/22? If so, I may have walked by you :-)

awaki - yes, had fun (over)saturating the colors on this one. The "leaf-peepers" were definitely out on Saturday: I think the camera-people might have outnumbered the trees in some parts of the Arboretum. I'm sure we crossed paths.

Very interesting and lovely shot, Matt. (I came in from Sierrablu's stream.) Gorgeous colors and nice composition.

Did you adjusted the color a bit? I have never seen this purple-rish blue new hancock.

missed this comment - sorry! I don't remember exactly what I did, but I know I didn't tweak any specific color - I still don't know how to do that. I did use picassa to turn up the contrast and saturation alot. This must have exaggerated the color of the hancock - you are correct that its never purple.

I recall that after taking this photo I noticed many similar Peter's Hill shots already on flickr. Since most of these were cropped wide and had a muddy brown/green color to them, I opted to try something different: crop it tall and emphasize the blue of the sky and the fall colors. I guess the Hancock was a casuality of this strategy... Not sure I would do the same thing a year later.

I recently took a picture of the Concord River, with my newly purchased polarize filter. Oh, gosh, the river was just some un-real feel of deep blue.

Maybe if you can try taking pictures with a pentax d-slr, the color would also be very concentrated.
