AbsintheWater Sugar Absinthe
Pour some absinthe in to a glass. Place an absinthe spoon across the top (A tea-strainer will do). Then place a sugar lump on the spoon and pour a small amount of water on to the sugar. After about half a minute, when the sugar has started to dissolve, slowly pour an equal amount of water to Absinthe over the sugar and in to the glass.

It is important to realise that your absinthe will taste foul. Its kind of meant to. That's not the point so don't believe your taste buds. They are your enemy. There's no hanging around waiting to get drunk, though. The inebriating affect is almost instant. I prefer mine without all that faffing about. Neat, or with a little water. CommentsButtersweet

I actually quite like the taste. But I usually burn the sugar with absinthe and skip the water. Well, you know, I like playing with fire. ;)
