Casey Wants to Learn Digital SLR Photography
This is sort of a New Year's shot for me, because about a year ago at this time was when I started really getting into photography. I love learning new tricks and techniques and I can't wait to bring the T1i down to Disney World to really test them all out!

Should I Come Down?This is an odd shot, but I'm proud of it since it's one of the first good shots using my DIY flash bouncer/reflector and exposing the background properly. I went into the basement to test the flash in poor lighting conditions and Casey took up this pose. I snapped a quick shot and was quite pleased with the exposure. I think using manual exposure is the trick (at least on the T1i). Using aperture priority was not giving me the results I wanted.

Casey Amidst the BokehOne of my favorite holiday bokeh shots of Casey. Sometimes it's nice not to use flash because the lights in the background show up better. Unfortunately, the T1i's Custom WB leaves something to be desired in low light. I'll be shooting a lot of RAW with this baby!

I'll have a cup of bokeh, please!I've seen this shot done so much better many times on Flickr but while I was sipping tea on Christmas, I looked over at my aunt's Christmas tree and new I had an opportunity to try the shot out for myself. I went vintage with it since the high ISO left it a bit to noisy for my liking.

Should I Jump?Casey ponders whether or not to lunge for a ball. This is just about as I can focus with the 100mm f/2. I think I was standing up for this shot.
