Sunset over a California beach. Seeing the sun set over the beach felt so weird the first couple of times.

Getting a feel for the T1i sensor. These were all using the 17-55mm f/2.8 at 17mm except the third image which I took (for some odd reason) at 35mm.

This is towards the end of climbing up Tepozteco mountain. I had to run up ahead of everyone to get this.

50mm @ f/2.5

- Equal parts medium onion, carrot, celery, some garlic (next time will add ginger too) cooked until soft in olive oil
- add 3x 14 oz can of diced tomato (or ~6 large tomatoes, boiled briefly and skin removed) and cook until it gets hot
- 2/3 6oz can of tomato paste and 2 tsp dried basil leaves (or a bunch of fresh chiffonade cut basil)
- 2-4 tbsp honey (or sugar)
- add salt if uncanned tomato and pepper
- add water for consistency

I blended it and added some fresh basil, olive oil, and pepper at the end.
