Grappa

Grappa by Saintbridge.
I was introduced to this wonderful Italian concotion yesterday by my friend, Roberta. It is an acquired taste, sets you on fire all the way down. I'll have to try it again before I can make any sort of an accurate assessment of it. But it has definitely got possibilities!

My friend was sharing Grappa from near where she was raised in NE Italy. They sure feel scary going down!

I am informed that Roberta is from a town near Bologna.

It had the same yumminess you'd recognize if you've ever drunk straight out of the Fry-O-Lator or dipped your canteen into a lava flow. It was hot. I'll try it again.

Kronos -- just trying to convey how friggin' hot the stuff is! Roberta cautioned me that you can't get drunk off it because you can't stand to drink very much of it. While I am a bit of a liquor lightweight to begin with, I could NEVER drink enough of this stuff to get toasted on.

My advice: if you're of age, try it.

Had that stuff when mama and I were in Rome last year. They put a shot of it in an espresso, calling it a caffe corretto. Hot on hot is right.

I thought I had described it pretty well. ;)

But I love learning and this was a learning experience -- gotta try the others she has!

Never had Grappa, but there's not many alcoholic beverages I won't drink. I'll have to find some of this stuff
