Orchid pool
I'm not a huge fan of pools (I usually prefer ocean if nearby... which it was), but this one looks like the hotel pool I always dreamed of going to when looking through vacation brochures as a kid. It is pretty freakin' awesome.

clear sky star trail
I just sat the camera down on one of the beach chairs, so there is a small amount of jitter. There is obviously a fair bit of noise (expected) and I made no effort to subtract it.
The sky is most definitely very clear even at the coast with very little light pollution, it is pretty obvious why the big island makes such a great observing location.
