Never have I seen a single color in so many tantalizing textures and shades.
Looking at this photograph, you become consumed with its solitude. You forget that there are other people in that room, and a photographer with his lens gazing at the scene only a couple of feet away.
The age and softness of the young lady’s face add a level of sincerity that is captivating. The outfit adds the right ‘shabbiness’ and the note stand looks like the canvas they used when they painted the wall. The flute comes across as the artist’s signature.
Everything in that space looks and feels used/ consumed.
The tiles ooze a cold breeze and the wall looks like it was painted on candle light and feels uneven.
A beam of light accentuates the inevitable gesture of a smile as she plays.
It feels like WW2 Germany.
I could only wish she is playing Bach’s Aria.
