Stunning expression, colours, framing. And that added quality that one can't put one's finger on.

I love the way her right foot is pressing against the door.

stunning! love the composition, and the way the woman's green/yellow clothing matches the green/yellow door/walls is uncanny!

beautiful composition and the muted colors give a poignant feel to the pic. However is she really a "Temple Woman?" The temple women were Devdasis. Upto the 18th and 19th century they were versatile dancers and musicians who lived in the temples and provided sexual services to clients as a form of worship to the god to whom they were said to be married to. The custom almost died during the British rule. However later when the custom was revived after the British left, the 'temple women' were simply classical singers and dancers. You see the entire classical tradition of music and dance in India was sustained by the devdasis. And when the British banned them -- India's classical music and dance came close to near extinction!!

@Rita: I labeled it Temple Woman because I shot the photo inside a temple.. That's about it. I'm sure she's not a devdasi :-) Probably just a devotee in the morning...
The original devdasi concept is quite fascinating though... and common in a lot of cultures.

very interesting shot, brilliant harmony of colours. However, a little less grain would have made it more appealing.
