Like that's a bad thing. The reductive influence of reductive modernism isn't necessarily a good thing. We just happen to be under its spell. Reductive modernism followed to its logical extreme results in the kind of sterile, empty, callow stuff we have today that routinely masquerades as "design". I prefer to call that stuff "non-design". Reductive modernism is the opposite of design. It's an excuse offered up by generations of empty practitioners who are demonstrably more interested in themselves and their careers than turning out anything resembling design.
