The bank of the river, a couple of tugs and a beautiful autumn day. That's all it takes

Thank you for viewing my work. I really appreciate all the remarks, comments and faves you leave on my photos. Time and other constraints will probably mean I cannot reply to them as often as I would like to. That does not mean, however, that I am not grateful for them, so please just keep 'em coming. - Sven

One fine day

One fine day

The ferris wheel, constructed in time for the end-of-year celebrations, stands proudly against the amazing sky.

A man and his dog

A man and his dog

Heading back home after sun down, in the corner of my eye I saw this path in the park I passed. It was illuminated by street lights, spreading their diffuse light in the foggy night air. After dinner I returned with my camera, persuading a friend who lived nearby to play the unwitting passer-by. After some shots this guy walked by with his dog. I ended up using this shot rather than those I shot with my friend (sorry Steven).

Not meant to be

Not meant to be

Accidentally pressing the shutter with a, for hand-holding, way too slow exposure setting may result in a shaky blurred image, but that does not have to mean a failed shot per se, as I discovered this morning. I was about to discard it when I was struck by the outlines of these two people together in the fog of that chilly morning in the park. Some manipulation pulled it back from the brink, to my taste at least. Exaggerating the reds in the photo resulted in this eerie, yet also warm and comforting, almost painted impression. I'm really curious as to what you think of this impromptu experiment.

Infinity, over and over again, 'till exhaustion

Infinity, over and over again, 'till exhaustion

A foggy morning was the signal to head out to the park for some moody shots. Even at this early hour I was not alone. This man was lapping the athletic track in preparation for a longer distance run. He didn't mind me recording his practice runs as he milled those laps.
