Now the trees have their very own bag to catch their leaves when they fall. Those smart trees.

» thanks folks, does anyone remeber the movie, with Kevin Spacey, a 40 something father lusting after one of his daughters friends? There was a long scene in that where, a young film-maker/videographer waxed lyrical about the romantics of plastic bags and air movement, any way every time I see a bag in this situation I am reminded of that scene, thanks all again.

» thanks belliebottom, there's always something fragile, futile, and somewhat poetic, to me about plastic bags caught in other objects and flapping in the breeze?

"Something about a plastic bag caught in up draught"

What keeps getting my eye in this photo is the depth of field. I love seeing something in the foreground with a lovely blur in the background like this. Something that my camera cannot do. (Yet)

This is certainly urban ecology if you perhaps see the trees as filters.. or messengers..

i think it's a lovely shot. and it did remind me of american beauty too.

and for our UE nazi - i think the ecology bit comes in in the interaction between the bag and the blossoms. elsewhere trees just worry about wind and insects when they're breeding - but in urban environments they have to contend with wayward plastic bags as well. not that the bag necessarily affects the tree - but the juxtaposition of the two is (almost) uniquely urban.

I still see it as a filter. A macro one, sure. but it does this on the atomic level as well.
