You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb
|
here are some behind-the-scenes stills
from our new music video for Spoon! its
a 3 minute stop-motion animation of
paper cutouts done by hand and sequenced
on a computer. the project is a
collaboration between britt daniel of spoon, phillip niemeyer of double triple, and myself...
WATCH THE VIDEO
we used a canon eos30d with a macrolens
on a tripod with a $90 arm attachment
from b&h... we used iphoto to select
high-res stills then sequenced in after
effects...
its amazing how few details I could
find online before starting the project,
which is why I posted the process
pictures... the best advice I can give
you, as was indirectly given to me by
several experienced animators:
a) 95% of your process you will need to
invent/figure out yourself
b) make sure your animation table is at
a comfortable height for your back
neither phillip or I had done stop
motion prior to this project, so it was
an absolute adventure figuring out how
to make it work... if you are embarking
on this journey, good luck!
and if you are a stop-motion animator,
please email us links to your work and/or your
animation configuration.
