Decided to process this image taken over a year ago during a beautifully dark and dramatic sunrise over Palouse Falls in SE Washington. I have actually had a few other great sunrise and sunset shoots from here over the past year or so, some with much better light, but I have found that I really prefer the amazingly high water flow I was greeted to on this particular morning. Something about the massive amount of water in this, compared to my other summertime or autumn images from here, really makes it all the more dramatic.
Anyways, I spent quite a bit of time working on this one, mostly with dodging, burning, and color work. I like the way it came out. I really tried to overcome the rather flat light that is often unavoidable when shooting Palouse Falls at sunrise or sunset, given that your subject is hidden in a 300ft canyon. Hopefully it works for some people though.
