Mumbai Suburban Railway Traffic Flow

Mumbai Suburban Railway Traffic Flow

Mumbai is land-locked. Its got North South Topography with Arabian Sea on one side, and Thane creek on the other. But whatever little land we had, we could have planned it better back then in the 60s-70s. What we now have is a quintessential North-South Traffic Flow pattern. Going South in the Morning Peak hours, and heading North in the Evening. Here is one such example of this flawed planning seen at Kurla Station, Mumbai, on the suburban Rail Network. Every Inch of Space on the Platform Area occupied on the Left. Being able to breath here is a gift in itself. On the other hand, not even a Dog on the right!

Still, Home is Home after all ! It is these Mumbai's famed locals that keep MUMBAI running. Unflinching Attitude towards Efficiency, Time & Opportunity.

Shot with a 2MP Phone Camera while returning home from work!

GOD's ABODE !

GOD's ABODE !

Home to some of India's Cricketing Stalwarts, and GOD, this is Wankhede Stadium, situated in the heart of So-Bo, Mumbai !
Apologies for the Quality. This was my 1st Stadium Experience, on an expected Dull Day 5 of 3rd and Final Test Match between India and West Indies. Turned out to be a humdinger in the end, with India requiring 2 Runs of the Last Ball of the match. Sadly, we TIED it, as only 1 Run could be had with the last shot, and a run-out followed on the 2nd run!

Shot with an Iphone 3G, and stitched with uniform Exposure, resulting in the patches!

As good as it could get!

As good as it could get!

Dinner with a view!
Seen here, bathing in flood lights, are the Udaipur Palace(L), the Taj Island Palace(C) and the Jag Mandir Island(R), all set up on the beautiful Lake Pichola. Many Thanks to Sanket Singhal, for getting us to this place. It was, indeed, one of the most beautiful evenings, and its memories will remain etched in our minds!

Sorry for the Quality. Shot with Nikon P & S S50. Two Shots, each handheld at 1 sec f 3.3 ISO 400 Stitched.
