The Koran

Taken for Take a Class with Dave & Dave - religion.

A friend of mine at work is a Muslim, and he takes it pretty seriously. We've had a few chats about his faith over the last few months and I find it all really interesting, so it was only natural that I asked him to bring in a Koran for me to photograph.

He brought two. They are things of beauty! The Arabic script is wonderfully fluent and the decorations on the books are simple but elegant.

I didn't get much time to photograph them due to my current chest infection, or whatever rubbish illness I have, but I'll be sure to be talking to him about Islam more in the future
