I love the fact that there are actually three strikes in this one shot. There are two completely separate bolts back there in the distance. I won't ask you to divulge your exposure and processing secrets so much as I'm very curious to know how long... how many storms do you have to just randomly open the shutter to, before you can accidentally capture something like this? Right place right time is an understatement, huh? Awesome shot.

If I'm at an f3.5 for 45 seconds with ISO100 I'd be WAY too bright. I usually have to shoot f11 for 15-20 seconds @ISO100. Of course, my strikes might be physically closer and brighter.

My knowledge about shooting lightning isn't that great, so I'm curious how f3.5 worked for you. Thanks!

Helps if you dont have a city close by. Salt lake City, Utah is 10 miles to the east. this is looking north. Dark Skies are key to long exposures with low Fnumbers.
