The Racquette River Railroad was a continuation of the New York and Ottawa, which terminated in Tupper Lake. This is a bit of ledge above Tupper Lake that they were going to have to blast away. You can see from the cracks in the rock that the explosion properly damaged the rock. This is still visible because they never finished this railroad.
